To provide people with disabilities with full access to education and to the labour market - that is one of the key areas of the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020. But suitable and powerful support concepts are still missing in many European countries. Therefore, it was the main aim of the T-EST project to transfer a well-elaborated and successful approach in that area: the concept of SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT.
The T-EST innovation transfer was based on a toolkit for the planning and implementation of supported employment. The main target behind the concept is to allow full access to the labour market and to vocational training for people with disabilities. T-EST particularly focused on the countries Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey, since supported employment had virtually been non-existing in these countries. Once successfully implemented, the transfer project would, thus, provide both a huge improvement for labour market participation, vocational training and integration of people with disabilities as well as support for the three countries to reach the targets of the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020 in the fields of vocational education and the labour market.
