Support Visit Romania May 2014

The implementation of SE in Romania is very challenging and it’s a pleasure to see all the enthusiastic and compassionate people involved in this process. Several organisations and the government are doing their best to get the things moved on into the right direction.
Their challenges are quite the same as in other regions involved in the project.
Supported employment is not yet settled and recognized in the minds of the people in Romania, both employers and job seekers. Many of the disabled don’t tell that they are disabled, so it’s hard to reach all of them. The only opportunity to create an employment status now is mainly through personal contact or parents of PwDs that own a company.
They know what has to be done in every stage to help on the process of implementation of SE. But it needs time and ressources to be able to reach their goals faster.

Best, Peter
